Language is a medium of communication not to be imposed!
I come across a lot of blogs that say Hindi is widely spoken, it's a dominant language, it’s largely spoken, etc. This blog is for all those people, give it a shot and read it, I promise it will be interesting.
Have you ever heard of Dravidian languages? These languages exist even before Hindi was born. Those are none other than Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, and 70 more languages that do not exist.
Description of each language
Tamil — 247 letters being the oldest of all languages and widely spoken in Tamilnadu
Kannada — 49 letters and widely spoken in Karnataka.
Telugu — 60 letters and widely spoken in Andrapradhes and Telangana
Malayalam — 56 letters and widely spoken in Kerala
Apologies if there is a small mismatch in the count.
All the above-stated languages are dominant over Hindi in many aspects, but still few of them say Hindi is our national language, “Aapko Hindi nahi aati kya? or whatever. There is no room for such a thing called the national language. Gujarat High Court has passed a judgment some years ago that Hindi is not the national language. However, the Hindi chauvinists want to make it by the erroneous claim that Hindi is spoken by a majority of the Indian population (as per the last census it’s only 41% of people who said Hindi is their mother tongue) it will never become the national language of a diverse country like India.
So takeaways
From the above please don't get me wrong by thinking I am against Hindi. It’s an absolute not! This is not personally against Hindi language or speakers. No one is stopping others from learning Hindi if they are interested. Knowing another language is always useful. Hindi is widely spoken and I have my respect for it, but at the same time, we must not forget that India is a diversified country blessed with 22 beautiful languages in which 60% of them we failed to protect. Now we are left with few languages, let's not destroy them by this dominance and loose our identities permanently.
LET US PROMOTE LANGUAGE TO LEARN AND NOT TO IMPOSE.
Indian by mind and heart. Jai Hind!
